Frequently Asked Questions

Does all of my donation go to AEIOU?

The platform we use for our fundraising events do not have any fees or charges applied (other than normal credit card transaction fees) so every cent of your donation goes to AEIOU.

Can I bring my child along in a pram?

Of course, all the family is welcome. We just ask that the pathway and common area rules are followed and that we respect others that may be using that space on the day of Take A Hike.

Why do I need to wear a race bib?

The safety of our participants is of the utmost importance to AEIOU Foundation. Your bib is unique to you in the event that we need to provide any medical assistance.

Is there a bag drop area?

Yes, there is a bag drop area. You will find a tear off strip on your race bib that you can attach to your bag. These will be held securely until your return.

Do you offer refunds?

Once you have paid your registration fee, we cannot offer refunds if you cannot attend (other than injury). You can however transfer your registration to another person. You just need to notify us. If you have to withdraw due to medical reasons, a refund will be given as long as you have provided us with a Doctors certificate stating you cannot take part in Take A Hike.

What’s included in my entry?

Your entry fee covers your participation in your chosen event. We will have snacks and water available on course and there is a BBQ at the end of the event where friends are family are welcome to come and watch you cross the finish line.

Is the event timed?

For the bigger Take A Hike events (over 500) the bibs will have timing chips. Your official time will be made available online the day of the event.

What if I need help with my fundraising?

That’s an easy one. Just pick up the phone or drop us an email events@aeiou.org.au and we are more than willing to help with anything you need. No idea is a bad idea and we have heard them all.

What if I have lost a child or loved one?

Just come and see one of the AEIOU staff and we will help you locate them.

What if I feel unwell?

We have an on course roving medic at all times as well as a first aid tent at the start/finish line. If you feel unwell, simple alert them or one of the many AEIOU volunteers.

What if the weather is bad?

If we feel that the weather conditions could be dangerous for our participants (ie extreme storm and dangerous  lightening) we will cancel the event. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer refunds if the event is cancelled due to imclement weather.
