I've really got my work cut out for me... But I'm pretty passionate about giving your all for things you believe in, so this is me saying 'you got this' to all kids with autism.

Thanks for supporting me! Champions Challenge 2021, here we come!

My Updates

08 Sep 2021

What started as a friendly bet became weeks of trek training, a COVID lockdown and subsequent event postponement, a huge mental battle to keep up our momentum, and a total THIRTEEN weeks of training... But the last hurdle - the real challenge, the gruelling 10-hour trek itself - is now just days away.

Thank you to everyone who’s sponsored me so far: together, WE’VE RAISED ALMOST $1,400 for some pretty incredible kiddos 👏 👏 👏

I couldn't be more grateful for all of your support.

11 July, on the Kokoda Track at Mt Coot-tha. What. Have. I. Done.

It started as a gamble by a colleague: "I'll do Champions Challenge if Steph does."

Little ol' me: known by my team for various antics (squash, walks, bouldering), but much better known for the time I broke two toes kicking a pole at a fitness class... (If you know, you know. 😏)

This photo, taken in our third week of training, shows the mess I've got myself into of going all in on this bet. Lucky AEIOU is worth it.

27 June: the day we started training for the Champions Challenge. I'll be real, it was a slog. I panted and puffed. I wondered who made me do this.

The Champions Challenge is something I never foresaw myself undertaking. But I suppose most families don't foresee the challenges they'll face in raising a child with autism either.

At AEIOU, families find a team who helps their child, scaffolds their learning and walks alongside them.

Yep, I remember who I'm doing this for now.
